It's almost February.

It can't come any sooner. I've never really liked January, and it's my belief that it's the first month of the year so we can go ahead and get it the hell over with. February's much better. But I just realized something—the month that's designated for the celebration of black history is the shortest month of the entire year. Have black stand-up comedians already commented on this? Am I the last to notice? Did black people or white people choose February for Black History Month? Who thought one of the 30-day months was a few days too many for this celebration? Do the people who made this decision get really angry every four years when Black History Month is extended by one day?

  1. Yes, it has been commented on by black comedians. It's also historically when the McRib comes back around. I believe I have made a joke about this on stage. ....
    CLASSY!

  2. and i've never liked September.
It's like a kid that nobody talks to. You kinda feel bad for not liking it, but it's so god damn mealy and unpersonable!
Then October comes along and blows it out of the water with its awesomeness. I guess it's no holidays, back to school, and in between seasons....tough luck for a month.

  3. My birthday is September 25. And Labor Day is in September. So are Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, but you don't care about Jewish holidays, do you, Mary KRAUT?

I've never had a McRib sandwich. But February seems like a good time to crave them if you can only crave them once a year. Don't crave them in March, black people. That's like me craving Chick-Fil-A sandwiches and waffle fries on a Sunday.
