Because I like meta-humor, comic strips that are funny and smart, newspapers, and, last but not least, clipping comic strips out of newspapers, here are four of Garry Trudeau's Sunday Doonesbury strips from the past four years.

another comic strip about piracy (not the "arr, matey" kind)

In Garry Trudeau's Doonesbury this week talk-radio host Mark Slackmeyer asked pop star Jimmy Thudpucker for his thoughts on musicians who perform private concerts for dictators, à la Beyoncé performing at a 2009 New Year's Eve party thrown by Moammar Gadhafi's son Hannibal in St. Barts.

Is it wrong? Should fans be offended? Will I post a new comic strip each month about the music industry's financial woes, gradually exposing myself as someone who can't comprehend economic issues unless they're illustrated—literally—with cartoon characters and joke-filled word bubbles? (Answers: Maybe, screw 'em, and God willing if one of The Lockhorns suddenly has a bone to pick with the iTunes Store come Mother's Day.)
